Week of: April 18 - 21
Sadly, Spring Break is over. Students must stay focused because time is moving fast. Our first SOL is in about 2 weeks!
The following are upcoming events and tests:
Math SOL Parent Night @ 6:30pm
Report Cards go home - 4/25
Reading SOL Part 1 - 5/4
Reading SOL Part 2 - 5/5
Virginia Studies SOL - 5/11
Math SOL Part 1 - 5/15
Math SOL Part 2 - 5/16
In Math, we will begin our Patterns, Functions, & Algebra Unit. Students must review nightly what we go over in class. This unit is covered in Chapter 3 of our Math Connects Math Book. All students have a username and password for the online book. It is imperative that students practice their math facts daily.
In Language Arts, we will review their knowledge of roots, synonyms, antonyms, and homophones. We, also, will continue SOL reviewing. Weekly Reading Logs will no longer be required after April 18th!
In Social Studies, we will begin Virginia in the 20th and 21st Century. In Science, we will continue our unit on Weather. Students should be bringing home their Social Studies and Science binders daily.
4th Grade Snacks
Due to our late lunch schedule, fourth grade will have a morning snack. All students may bring in a snack each day for themselves. No sharing! Snacks should be healthy, quick & easy to eat, and should not be stored in the classroom overnight. Some examples of healthy snacks would be fruits, vegetables, pretzels or granola bars. Water ONLY. Please be aware that some days we may need to forfeit snack due to a busy schedule.
Take a minute to sign up to donate water bottles to the classroom. Receive a volunteer hour for each water bottle donation for a maximum of 3 hours. (3 cases for 3 hours)
